How is WPM calculated?

Words per minute = (correctly typed characters ÷ 5) ÷ minutes. Five characters (including spaces) count as one "word", the standard used by typing tests worldwide.

What is a good typing speed?

The average adult types about 40 WPM. 60–70 WPM is good for office work, 80+ is fast, and professional typists reach 100–120 WPM.
